Here is a sample diet plan for people living in north India according to their eating habits -

Meal What to eat
Early Morning
  • fenugreek seed water
  • 6 soaked almonds and 2 walnuts with tea (without sugar or artificial sweeteners)
Breakfast
  • 1 to 2 cups oatmeal and 1 cup low-fat milk or
  • 2 brown bread sandwiches and 2 boiled egg whites or
  • 2 fenugreek parathas without oil and 1 bowl of curd
After Breakfast

Lunch

Early Morning

 

  • Hot water with lemon juice
  • Tea, without sugar or artificial sweetener. Eat half a bowl of roasted gram with it
Breakfast
  • Milk with 1 bowl of rice porridge
  • 2 wheat bread lightly buttered, milk, and a boiled egg
  • Vegetable omelet of 2 eggs and 1 multi-grain bread
After Breakfast
  • apple or 1 orange or 1 bowl of papaya
  • 1 glass of spiced buttermilk
Lunch
  • Onion, Cucumber, and Tomato Salad
  • 2 Chapati or 1 bowl brown or red rice
  • 1 bowl dal or 1 piece fish curry/chicken curry
  • Vegetables like peas, cauliflower, capsicum, bottle gourd, beans, etc.

  • Coffee, without sugar or artificial sweetener, and 1/2 cup roasted makhana

  • 2 idlis with 2 tbsp tomato chutney and 1 bowl of sambar (reduce the use of salt in the chutney)
  • 2 ragi dosa with 2 tbsp tomato chutney and 1 bowl of sambar (reduce the use of salt in chutney)
  • 1 piece of the putt and 1 bowl of chickpeas
After Breakfast
  • 1 orange or apple or 1 glass of buttermilk
Lunch
  • 1 plate of vegetable salad
