Interaction between Food and Coflox
Using Coflox with some foods may lead to harmful effects. Take your doctor's advice on this.
Interaction between Alcohol and Coflox
Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol while taking Coflox as it can have severe side effects.
Do not take Coflox along with dairy products such as milk or yogurt or calcium-containing foods. Dairy products may affect the absorption of the medicine directly affecting the efficacy of this drug. Hence, avoid taking Coflox with calcium-rich foods.
Coflox is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting the bacterial cell division for this it stops the working of enzyme which is responsible for cell division. It is effective against a large number of bacteria, even those bacteria which is other drugs to resistant.
Coflox should not be taken together. Harmful drug-drug interaction has been reported between them. Please let your doctor know that you are on warfarin if he/she has prescribed Coflox to you.
Coflox used to treat several bacterial infections, like urinary tract infection (UTI), pneumonia, bone, and joint infection, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, otitis externa, prostatitis, anthrax, and bacterial infection of the eye. It is not effective for treating any viral infections such as cold, and flu.
Coflox can increase the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture in some patient. However, the exact mechanism of tendon rupture is not known. If you suffer from tendon rupture or any kind of muscular pain after consuming this drug, please consult your doctor immediately.
