Moximycin contains moxifloxacin (a broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs known as fluoroquinolones). In this way Moximycin is effective against a wide range of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria such as Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Moraxella catarrhalis.
