Xycalm is a brand name for alprazolam. It is a controlled prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called benzodiazepine. It is short-acting potent anxiolytic and a minor tranquilizer. It is used for the treatment of anxiety and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks).
Xycalm is safe to use. Your doctor recommends this drug depending upon your condition and extends the medicine course further if you require it. Do not discontinue the treatment suddenly or take longer than prescribed.
Stopping or discontinuing Xycalm on your own can cause withdrawal symptoms (seizures, difficulty in sleep, headache, nervousness, and depression).
