Emesafe Information

Emesafe, a prescription drug, is manufactured in various forms such as Spray, Injection. It is typically used for the treatment of Nausea and Vomiting.

The optimal dosage of Emesafe is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

Besides the aforementioned side effects, there are other adverse effects of Emesafe as well, which are listed below. These side effects of Emesafe are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. However, if these continue for a longer time, consult your doctor right away.

How to take Emesafe?

Emesafe is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Emesafe has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The initial dose is usually taken half an hour before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiation therapy and 1 hour before a surgery. Additional doses can be suggested by the doctor as per the individual requirements.

Does Emesafe cause drowsiness?

Yes, Emesafe may cause drowsiness because this drug has been reported to induce sleep. Ensure you do not drive or do some high precision work. To avoid excessive drowsiness with this medicine you are encouraged to take adequate night-time sleep, keeping distractions out of the bedroom, going to sleep and getting up at consistent times, eating light at lunchtime, putting in some form of a physical activity, avoiding taking naps during the day, and avoiding alcohol at night.
