Nuset Information

Nuset is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Injection. It is primarily used for the treatment of Nausea and Vomiting.

The right dosage of Nuset depends on the age, gender, and medical history of the patient. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. For detailed information on this, read through the dosage section.

While these are the most often observed Nuset side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Usually, these side effects of Nuset go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. Please speak with your doctor if these side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.

Nuset's effect during pregnancy is Safe and Mild while nursing. It is important to know if Nuset has any effect on the kidney, liver and heart. Information on such adverse effects, if any, has been given in the Nuset related warnings section.

Nuset is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Heart Disease, Calcium Deficiency, Potassium Deficiency are examples of such conditions. Other contraindications of Nuset have been discussed in the sections ahead.

Yes, Nuset may cause drowsiness because this drug has been reported to induce sleep. Ensure you do not drive or do some high precision work. To avoid excessive drowsiness with this medicine you are encouraged to take adequate night-time sleep, keeping distractions out of the bedroom, going to sleep and getting up at consistent times, eating light at lunchtime, putting in some form of a physical activity, avoiding taking naps during the day, and avoiding alcohol at night.

How to take Nuset?

Nuset is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Nuset has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The initial dose is usually taken half an hour before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiation therapy and 1 hour before a surgery. Additional doses can be suggested by the doctor as per the individual requirements.

Is Nuset safe for children?

Yes, Nuset is safe to be used in children from 6 months to 12 years of age. Apart from preventing nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy and radiation, Nuset can be used in this population group for managing acute gastritis. Acute gastritis presents itself as a self-limited infection with vomiting leading to dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. Always check with a child specialist and do not administer this drug yourself.
