Cosdrox contains cefalexin which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against a wide variety of bacteria. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of a cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies. Cosdrox is effective against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Beta-hemolytic streptococci, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococci strains, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Klebsiella species.
No, Cosdrox does not cause hair loss (alopecia). It has not been associated with hair loss till now. If you are experiencing any unusual hair loss after using this drug and you are in doubt that Cosdrox is causing this effect then do discuss it with your doctor.
