Yes, Mgr may cause constipation. The exact cause behind constipation is unknown. However, if you are experiencing constipation after taking this drug then try to take laxative such as Isabgol and eat less spicy highly fibrous food.
Very rarely, Mgr causes hair loss (alopecia). Animal studies have shown that flunarizine can cause loss of hair. Hence its possibility in humans cannot be denied. If you are experiencing excessive hair loss after taking this drug then you are advised to discuss it with your doctor.
Mgr contains flunarizine which works through preventing the narrowing of blood vessels due to calcium overload caused by the excessive influx of calcium. The narrowing of blood vessels is considered as a possible cause for migraine and its prevention helps in reducing the frequency and severity of migraine attacks. Mgr also blocks the release of a chemical messenger (histamine) due to its antihistaminic properties which are presumed to contribute in providing relief to the patient from symptoms of vestibular vertigo.
