Mutax is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of this cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies. Mutax is effective against a wide range of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenza, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus pneumonia.
The dosage of this drug may vary from case to case as it depends on the type of infection and severity of an infection. You are recommended to take this drug as per your doctor's instructions. Precautions must be taken in patients with a history of penicillin allergy, colitis, and impaired kidney function.
