Sertakon contains sertaconazole which is an antifungal agent that works by preventing the synthesis of ergosterol (a component of the cell membrane of fungi). In the absence of ergosterol fungal cell wall is damaged that results in an increase in permeability of fungal cell wall this causes leakage of nutrients which kills the fungi. In this way, Sertakon inhibits the fungal growth and treats fungal infection.

Sertakon is a brand name of sertaconazole and it comes in the form of topical cream. Sertaconazole which belongs to the class of drugs known as antifungal agents. It is a prescription drug that is used for the treatment of treat tinea pedis (athlete's foot) which is a fungal infection of the skin caused by mainly one of the three fungi which are Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. It is also used in the treatment of other fungal infections such as ringworm and jock itch (tinea cruris).
