One reason for this is that high glucose levels increase your risk of high blood pressure (hypertension). No harmful interactions are seen between them. However, a recent study suggests that beta-blockers can decrease the plasma level of Bymet and long-term use can increase lactic acid and uric acid in the blood.

Some studies say that it's possible your blood sugar (blood glucose) level may increase when you take a statin, which may lead to developing type 2 diabetes. Can I take alcohol with Bymet?

No, you should not take alcohol with Bymet, because it can cause serious side effects which includes hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). The risk of hypoglycemia is higher when you're drinking and taking Bymet than if you're just taking Bymet. Some of the signs of hypoglycemia include dizziness, confusion, and drowsiness.
