Emigo Information

Emigo is a prescription medicine that is available as a Injection, Solution, Tablet. Nausea and Vomiting are some of its major therapeutic uses.

The optimal dosage of Emigo is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

While these are the most often observed Emigo side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Usually, these side effects of Emigo go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. However, if these continue for a longer time, consult your doctor right away.

In addition, Emigo's effect is Safe during pregnancy and Mild for lactating mothers. It is important to know if Emigo has any effect on the kidney, liver and heart. Information on such adverse effects, if any, has been given in the Emigo related warnings section.

This is the usual dosage recommended in most common treatment cases. Please remember that every patient and their case is different, so the dosage can be different based on the disease, route of administration, patient's age and medical history.

No, Emigo is not found to be effective against motion sickness. It prevents vomiting due to chemotherapeutic drugs and radiation. Motion sickness is the disturbance of the inner ear caused by a lot of motion. It can be prevented by not taking too much food or too many drinks or alcohol just before the travel. One should also avoid food with very strong odours. One should avoid reading while traveling. One should also sit in the direction of the travel. One should sit in the front. Open a vent of fresh air and try to be relaxed while traveling.

Yes, Emigo can be taken with pantoprazole as there are no records of any drug interaction. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor which is used for treating acidity. Acidity can be managed by avoiding eating acidic and spicy foods, avoiding smoking, and avoiding sleep within 3 hours of taking meals.

Does Emigo cause drowsiness?

Yes, Emigo may cause drowsiness because this drug has been reported to induce sleep. Ensure you do not drive or do some high precision work. To avoid excessive drowsiness with this medicine you are encouraged to take adequate night-time sleep, keeping distractions out of the bedroom, going to sleep and getting up at consistent times, eating light at lunchtime, putting in some form of a physical activity, avoiding taking naps during the day, and avoiding alcohol at night.

Why Emigo is prescribed post surgery?

Yes, Emigo is usually administered before and after surgery for treating post-anesthesia shivering (PAS) and nausea. PAS is a condition in which tremors of head, neck, trunk, shoulder, and extremities. It greatly reduces the quality of life of a patient since it causes discomfort and increases pain. It disturbs surgical care and increases the stress on cardiopulmonary functions. Hence as a precautionary measure, this medicine is administered to prevent unpleasant anesthetic effects.
