Yes, Manoxime can treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections which is an infection of the urinary system caused by bacteria Escherichia coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of this cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies.

The dosage of Manoxime may vary from case to case as it depends on the type of infection and severity of an infection. You are recommended to take this drug as per your doctor's instructions. It should be taken with food because food promotes its absorption from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in patients with a history of penicillin allergy, colitis, and impaired kidney function.

No, Manoxime is not a sulfa drug. It contains cefotaxime which belongs to the class of drugs known as cephalosporins. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic which covers a wide range of bacteria which are generally found to be resistant to penicillin.
