How to take Ambrosol D?

Ambrosol D is available in the form of tablet, syrup, and lozenge. The tablet should be swallowed with water, the syrup should be taken with a measuring spoon or a container and lozenge should be allowed to melt inside the mouth. Ambrosol D is taken every 4 to 12 hours as per the requirement. It is important to read the label carefully and follow the instructions completely. If you are giving Ambrosol D to a child then make sure it is not given to a child younger than 4 years old. Also, make sure that you are using a brand that is exclusively for children. Be very careful while administering more than one type of drug to the child because if there is a common ingredient in more than one drug then it could lead to overdose. It is suitable to take Ambrosol D under the guidance of a doctor or a pharmacist. It is also important to talk to your doctor if the symptoms do not improve in 7 days.

Can Ambrosol D be given to a patient with asthma?

No, Ambrosol D is not suitable for a patient with asthma. Ambrosol D is suitable for treating cough originating from cold and flu. It is not suitable for treating cough due to smoking or asthma. Asthma is generally treated with two type of medication which are long-term control and quick-relief medicine. For long-term control, medicine helps reduce airway inflammation and prevent asthma symptoms where quick-relief medicine helps sudden relief from asthmatic symptoms.
