Uridip contains allopurinol that belongs to the class of drugs known as xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme (Responsible for uric acid production in our body) that lead to disruption in the biosynthesis of uric acid due to which its abnormally high levels are decreased in the body. The decreased levels of uric acid prevent the formation of uric acid crystals and calcium oxalate crystals. Hence, in this way, it prevents from gout.

Yes, Uridip is helpful in the kidney stone. It is used in the prevention of kidney stones (recurrent calcium oxalate stones) which is caused by the formation of the calcium oxalate crystals. Uridip promotes precipitation of these calcium oxalate crystals which reduces the formation of kidney stones

Uridip is a brand name of allopurinol and it comes in the form of a tablet (solid unit dosage form). It is an antigout agent that belongs to the class of drugs known as xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It is a prescription drug that is used in the treatment of gout (arthritis that causes intense pain and redness in the joints due to deposition of uric acid crystals). Apart from the treatment of gout Uridip is given in hyperuricemia and Chemotherapy-induced hyperuricemia (abnormally high levels of uric acid in the blood).
