Interaction between Food and Espidase P
You can take Espidase P with food.
Interaction between Alcohol and Espidase P
Due to lack of research, nothing can be said about side effects of consuming alcohol while taking Espidase P.
No harmful interactions have been reported between Espidase P and codeine. Do not take it until and unless prescribed. However, if you are experiencing any unpleasant medicinal side effects such as nausea, stomach pain, and tremors after taking Espidase P. Inform your doctor immediately.
An overdose occurs when more than the required amount (toxic levels) of [medicine] is taken. Initial symptoms of Espidase P overdose includes loss of appetite, drowsiness, seizures, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Later progressive symptoms may include pain in your upper stomach, dark colored urine, yellowing of your skin or the white patches in your eyes, liver damage and in rare cases, it can also lead to coma. So, by any chance, if you have accidentally taken more than the required dose of Espidase P inform your doctor immediately.
As we know Espidase P is most widely used 'over-the-counter' analgesic/antipyretic medicine. However, paracetamol overdose can cause serious adverse effects on the liver, it may be fatal. But fortunately, there is an antidote, N-acetylcysteine (NAC) given within 8 hours of Espidase P ingestion which usually can prevent all serious side effects of Espidase P poisoning. However, do not take NAC without consulting a doctor as your doctor will tell you the right way and methods to help you relieve from this drug poisoning.
Espidase P is a brand name for paracetamol. It is an analgesic and antipyretic medication used to treat mild to moderate pain and fever. Even WHO has considered this drug to be an essential medicine for basic healthcare requirements. Paracetamol is one of the most commonly used 'over-the-counter' medicine. It is often prescribed as one of the first-line treatment options for pain and fever with minimum side effects.
Yes, you can take Espidase P with or without food, because it doesn't irritate the stomach lining, unlike other drugs. However, if you are taking NSAIDs (painkillers) such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen along with paracetamol it is best to take them with a light meal or a glass of milk.
