Yes, Olmefit AM can cause erectile dysfunction. It is uncommon side effects of this drug. If you experience erectile dysfunction after consuming this drug, please inform to a doctor, they might give you an alternate therapy.
Olmefit AM is a brand name of amlodipine. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called calcium channel blocker. It is available in solid oral dosage forms like tablet and capsule. It is used in the treatment of high blood pressure (high BP) and coronary artery disease. It is not recommended for heart failure. It is also used in the treatment of angina (chest pain).
No, Olmefit AM should not be discontinued on your own. Discontinuation of a drug on your own can cause some serious problem such as blood pressure or chest pain which lead to heart attack and stroke. Yes, you can take it with seafood safely if you are not allergic to seafood. However, there is a lot of scientific evidence that Olmefit AM has shown very strong interaction with grapefruit juice hence you are highly recommended to avoid grapefruit juice with this drug.
