Pregapil is a prescription drug, available for use as Capsule. It is typically used for the treatment of Neuropathic Pain, Epilepsy.
The correct dosage of Pregapil depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. This information has been provided in detail in the dosage section.

Is the use of Pregapil safe for pregnant women?
Pregapil may cause moderate side effects during pregnancy. If you feel its harmful effects, then stop taking this drug immediately, and do not take Pregapil again without your doctor's advice.
Is the use of Pregapil safe during breastfeeding?
Pregapil may lead to some side effects in breastfeeding women. If you witness any unusal symptoms after taking Pregapil, discontinue its use and call your doctor right away. Follow your doctor's advice regarding the use of Pregapil.
What is the effect of Pregapil on the Kidneys?
Very few cases of side effects of Pregapil on kidney have been reported.

Interaction between Food and Pregapil
Taking Pregapil with food is safe.
Interaction between Alcohol and Pregapil
Consuming Pregapil with alcohol can have many serious effects on your body.
Methylcobalamin is abundantly found in eggs, milk, curd, meat (chicken and fish). However, if your levels are very low you are recommended to take medicines as per doctors instructions.
The general recommended an oral dose of the Pregapil is 1500 µg daily, divided into three doses. It is also available in other forms such as injectibles. Patients with critically low levels of methylcobalamin are often recommended by to take intramuscular injections to cover up for their deficiency.
The Pregapil is susceptible to breaking down in the presence of light and it also gets affected by the moisture. Therefore, it should be consumed as soon as the package is opened and must be protected from the light and moisture.
Pregapil works by forming myelin sheath which is used to cover and protect the nerve cells. Pregapil is used to revive the nerve cells. In the absence of enough Pregapil, myeline sheath doesn't form properly leading to nerve damage.
The Pregapil can be used for the treatment of subacute herpetic neuralgia (pain that persists for 30 to 120 days following a rash by herpes zoster), glossopharyngeal neuralgia (extreme pain at the back of the tongue, throat or ears) and trigeminal neuralgia (extreme pain caused via trigeminal nerve from face to the brain).
