Interaction between Alcohol and Tobur
Taking Tobur with alcohol can have severely harmful effects on your health.
Tobur contain famotidine. It works blocking certain receptors in the stomach (H2 receptors) which prevents the excessive secretion of stomach acid from gastric parietal cells. Hence in this way, Tobur promotes healing of stomach ulcer and provides relief in acid reflux and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
No, taking Tobur does not raise blood pressure. However, if you are experiencing fluctuations in blood pressure while taking this drug. Do not delay, inform your doctor immediately.
No, You can not stop/discontinue Tobur on your own, because it may cause rebound effects. Rebound effects mean that you may experience transient symptom if you suddenly stop taking medication. So, you must consult your doctor before stopping medication on your own.
Long-term use of Tobur can cause vitamin B12 deficiency. Because it decreases the acid secretion in the stomach which is required for the absorption of vitamin B12. To stop this deficiency, your doctor may prescribe Tobur along with vitamin B12.
