Benzace Information
Benzace contains Megestrol acetate, a synthetic progestational agent primarily used in the treatment of certain cancers and as an appetite stimulant. It plays a significant role in managing weight loss and cachexia in patients with AIDS or cancer.

Mechanism of Action
Megestrol acetate works by inhibiting the release of gonadotropins from the pituitary gland, resulting in decreased estrogen production, which is beneficial in hormone-sensitive cancers. Additionally, it has appetite-stimulating properties.
Dosage and Administration
Breast Cancer and Endometrial Cancer:

Recommended dose: 40 to 320 mg/day orally, divided into several doses.
Anorexia, Cachexia, or Weight Loss:

Recommended dose: 400 to 800 mg/day orally.

Administration: Take Benzace with or without food as directed by a healthcare provider.
Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is close to the next scheduled dose.
