No, Corci NM alone should not be used for jock itch also known as tinea cruris because it is a fungal infection and Corci NM is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Corci NM should not be used for the treatment of jock itch. For the treatment of jock itch, you can use a combination of Corci NM and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
Yes, Corci NM might cause dry skin in few cases only. However, the exact cause behind dry skin is unknown. If you are experiencing excessive dryness of skin after applying this drug then you are advised to use a skin moisturizer. Skin moisturizer should be applied only after 30 minutes of applying this drug so that the Corci NM can be absorbed by the skin.
Corci NM contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Corci NM prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
Corci NM should be applied 1 - 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Corci NM should be applied after cleaning the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication till it disappears. Do not forget to wash your hands after applying this drug.
