Neksium D Capsule

Neksium D Capsule is a brand name of esomeprazole. It is a prescription medicine that belongs to the class of drug called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It is mainly used for the treatment of NSAIDs associated peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GRED), Zollinger Ellison syndrome and other acidity related stomach problems. It is also used for the treatment of duodenal ulcer and heartburn.

Take Neksium D Capsule as long as needed, but do not take more than 4 weeks. If your symptoms still persist even after 4 weeks then consult your doctor before taking this drug afterward.

This is because a long-term use of Neksium D Capsule can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acid which is required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
