Interaction between Alcohol and Norlip
Consumption of alcohol and Norlip together may have severe effects on your health.
No, Norlip does not cause diabetes. It has not been reported to cause diabetes. However, Norlip might increase your blood sugar levels slightly. So, if you have diabetes keep a check on your blood sugar levels and in case of a sudden spike inform your doctor and take medicines accordingly.
Yes, Norlip might cause hair loss but it occurs very rarely. This problem goes away after discontinuation of the drug. However, if you notice excessive hair loss then consult it with your doctor.
Norlip comes in form of a tablet and ideally, it should be taken by mouth once daily as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with food or without food at any time of the day. Precautions must be taken in patients with liver disease, diabetes, and hypothyroidism.
It has been reported to cause weight gain but only in a few cases, this occurs very rarely. However, the exact cause behind this is unknown. if you notice any unusual weight gain after taking this drug. Then you are recommended to discuss it with your doctor.
Norlip works by inhibiting an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) which is responsible for cholesterol synthesis in our body, its inhibition results in increased levels of HDL (good cholesterol) and decreased levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) which lowers the risk of developing heart disease and helps in preventing strokes
