Ontix Information

Ontix is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet, Injection. It is typically used for the treatment of Nausea and Vomiting.

The correct dosage of Ontix depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. Besides the medical condition it is advised for, the route of administration also plays an important role in determining the correct drug dosage.     Yes, Ontix is safe to be used in children from 6 months to 12 years of age. Apart from preventing nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy and radiation, Ontix can be used in this population group for managing acute gastritis. Acute gastritis presents itself as a self-limited infection with vomiting leading to dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. Always check with a child specialist and do not administer this drug yourself.

PAS is a condition in which tremors of head, neck, trunk, shoulder, and extremities. It greatly reduces the quality of life of a patient since it causes discomfort and increases pain. It disturbs surgical care and increases the stress on cardiopulmonary functions. Hence as a precautionary measure, this medicine is administered to prevent unpleasant anesthetic effects.

    How to take Ontix?

    Ontix is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Ontix has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The initial dose is usually taken half an hour before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiation therapy and 1 hour before a surgery. Additional doses can be suggested by the doctor as per the individual requirements.
