Generally, for treating toothache arising due to dental cavities and dental procedures ibuprofen along with antibiotics are recommended by dentists to reduce swelling and pain.
No, Shonim Plus is not banned for use in adults and elderly patients by CDSCO. However, CDSCO has banned Shonim Plus for children below 12 years age as it can cause hepatic failure (liver failure).

Shonim Plus should not be taken when a person has been detected with dengue. This is because nimesulide may cause internal bleeding which can be fatal during dengue. Along with taking precautionary measures mentioned above, seek medical advice right away in case of Dengue as negligence and low platelet counts may lead to fatal consequences.
