Tramatas contains tramadol which is an opioid analgesic (pain-killer). It is presumed that tramadol provides relief from pain by binding to certain receptors (mu-opioid receptors) in our brain and by preventing the reuptake of chemical messengers (neurotransmitters) serotonin and norepinephrine.
