    Zofer Information

    Zofer is a prescription medicine that is available as a Syrup,Tablet,Injection. Nausea and Vomiting are some of its major therapeutic uses.

    The optimal dosage of Zofer is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

    Some other side effects of Zofer have been listed ahead. Such side effects of Zofer normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. Please speak with your doctor if these side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.

    In addition, Zofer's effect is Safe during pregnancy and Mild for lactating mothers. In addition, Zofer's effects on the liver, heart and kidney are discussed below in the Zofer related warnings section.

    Zofer can cause adverse effects in certain medical conditions. It is strongly recommended to avoid Zofer in conditions like Heart Disease, Calcium Deficiency, Potassium Deficiency. Other conditions have been mentioned below in the Zofer contraindications section.

    Is Zofer safe for children?

    Yes, Zofer is safe to be used in children from 6 months to 12 years of age. Apart from preventing nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy and radiation, Zofer can be used in this population group for managing acute gastritis. Acute gastritis presents itself as a self-limited infection with vomiting leading to dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. Always check with a child specialist and do not administer this drug yourself.

    How to take Zofer?

    Zofer is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Zofer has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The initial dose is usually taken half an hour before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiation therapy and 1 hour before a surgery. Additional doses can be suggested by the doctor as per the individual requirements.

    Can Zofer be taken with pantoprazole?

    Yes, Zofer can be taken with pantoprazole as there are no records of any drug interaction. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor which is used for treating acidity. Acidity can be managed by avoiding eating acidic and spicy foods, avoiding smoking, and avoiding sleep within 3 hours of taking meals.
