Yes, Cadpres might cause constipation in a few cases only. The exact cause of constipation is unknown. If you are experiencing constipation after taking this drug then try to take laxative such as Isabgol and eat less spicy highly fibrous food.
Yes, sometimes Cadpres might cause cough reflex. It occurs due to bronchoconstrictive (narrowing of the airways) effect of this drug. It is a rare side effect of this drug. If you are experiencing excessive coughing after taking this drug then you are advised to consult with your doctor.
Take Cadpres once or twice in a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food because of the presence of food does not affect its absorption from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, thyrotoxicosis, and improper liver or kidney function.
Cadpres contains atenolol which is presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
