Ceftrisone is a prescription drug, available for use as Injection. It is primarily used for the treatment of Urinary Tract Infection, Gonorrhea, Meningitis. Secondary and off-label uses of Ceftrisone have also been mentioned below.

Besides the aforementioned side effects, there are other adverse effects of Ceftrisone as well, which are listed below. Interaction between Food and Ceftrisone
Taking Ceftrisone with food does not cause any problems.
Interaction between Alcohol and Ceftrisone
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Ceftrisone with alcohol will be.
Occasionally Ceftrisone can cause drug-induced thrombocytopenia (blood clot formation in a vessel). However, if you experience severe thrombocytopenia after taking this medicine, please immediately seek medical help.
Ceftrisone can be safely taken as prescribed by your doctor. Do not discontinue the medicine suddenly or take it longer than prescribed duration.
Rarely Ceftrisone can cause neurotoxicity. It is a reversible side effect of this drug, the symptoms caused due to drug-induced neurotoxicity often disappear after this drug is stopped. However, if you experience convulsions, agitation, weakness and severe nausea do not hesitate to inform your doctor without any further delay.
Ceftrisone works by inhibiting the growth of the bacterial cell wall which is essential for the growth of bacteria. Hence, in this way, it prevents us from bacterial infection.
Occasionally Ceftrisone can cause a drug to induce hemolytic anemia (abnormal Red blood cell breakdown). However, if your blood reports are showing abnormal hemolytic anemia after taking this drug please discuss with your doctor.
