Ciplek is a prescription drug, available for use as Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Urinary Tract Infection, Bacterial Infections. Other than this, Ciplek has some other therapeutic uses, which have been discussed ahead.
Medical history of the patient along with age and gender determines the dosage of Ciplek. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.
Apart from the aforementioned side effects, Ciplek can also lead to other problems, which have been listed below. Usually, these side effects of Ciplek go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. Please speak with your doctor if these side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.
It is also important to note that Ciplek has a Moderate effect for pregnant women and Moderate effect on lactating mothers. No, the use of Ciplek in mental disorders is not effective.
Interaction between Food and Ciplek
Taking certain foods and Ciplek together may have severe side effects. Talk to your doctor about it.
Interaction between Alcohol and Ciplek
Consuming Ciplek with alcohol can have many serious effects on your body.
It is recommended to avoid taking Ciplek with azithromycin because it can cause problems. However, if your doctor has prescribed it to you take it as per his/her advice. In case you are experiencing breathing difficulties, palpitations and pain in the chest please inform your doctor immediately.
Ciplek is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting the bacterial cell division for this it stops the working of enzyme which is responsible for cell division. It is effective against a large number of bacteria, even those bacteria which is other drugs to resistant.
Ciplek used to treat several bacterial infections, like urinary tract infection (UTI), pneumonia, bone, and joint infection, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, otitis externa, prostatitis, anthrax, and bacterial infection of the eye. It is not effective for treating any viral infections such as cold, and flu.
It is recommended to avoid taking Ciplek with ibuprofen, because it may increase the risk of side effects associated with the central nervous system. Hence you must consult a doctor before taking these two medicines together.
Ciplek and doxylamine can be taken together, as there are no reported harmful interactions between them. However, it doesn't mean that no interactions exist between them. Please take if prescribed by a doctor.
