Efoceft Information

Efoceft is a prescription medicine that is available as a Injection. It is primarily used for the treatment of Urinary Tract Infection, Gonorrhea, Meningitis. Secondary and off-label uses of Efoceft have also been mentioned below.

The correct dosage of Efoceft depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

Rarely Efoceft can cause neurotoxicity. It is a reversible side effect of this drug, the symptoms caused due to drug-induced neurotoxicity often disappear after this drug is stopped. How to take Efoceft?

Do not self-administer Efoceft. It comes in the form of injection and preferably taken 1 - 2 times in a day (Intravenously or Intramuscularly). Take this medicine in the required quantity and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Discontinuing the a in between may promote resistant bacteria which result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 14 days course even after getting symptomatic relief. In case you feel any discomfort such as breathing difficulties and skin reactions while taking this medicine please inform your doctor immediately.
