Hibesor is a prescription medicine that is available as a Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Angina, High BP. Secondary and off-label uses of Hibesor have also been mentioned below.

Interaction between Food and Hibesor

Interaction between Alcohol and Hibesor
Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol while taking Hibesor as it can have severe side effects.
Hibesor contains atenolol which is presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
Rarely, Hibesor causes hair loss (alopecia). However, the exact cause behind hair loss is unknown but it is presumed that it occurs because of thinning of the hairs which weakens their strength. If you are experiencing excessive hair loss after taking this drug then do discuss it with your doctor.
Take Hibesor as long as it is recommended by your doctor. Using this drug beyond that period might not be good for you because it can lead to unintended side effects.
Yes, Hibesor might cause constipation in a few cases only. The exact cause of constipation is unknown. If you are experiencing constipation after taking this drug then try to take laxative such as Isabgol and eat less spicy highly fibrous food.
Yes, sometimes Hibesor might cause cough reflex. It occurs due to bronchoconstrictive (narrowing of the airways) effect of this drug. It is a rare side effect of this drug. If you are experiencing excessive coughing after taking this drug then you are advised to consult with your doctor.
