Rarely, Orcizol causes fever and chills. If you are experiencing fever after taking this drug then try to take mild antipyretic medicine such as paracetamol even after this fever does not subsidise then discuss with your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Orcizol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is active against gram-positive bacteria and certain gram-negative bacteria. It works by preventing the protein synthesis in bacteria which are essential for it. The absence of these vital proteins results in stunned bacterial cell growth due to which bacteria become vulnerable and dies. Orcizol is effective against a wide range of gram-positive bacteria and some gram-negative bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus agalactiae, and Enterococcus faecium.
Orcizol is a brand name of linezolid and it comes in form of tablet and injection. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drug known as oxazolidinone. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is used in the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections such as skin infections and respiratory infections (pneumonia).
