Osta D3 is a brand name of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and it comes in the form of a tablet, capsule, sachet, and injection. It is a prescription drug that is used in the management of diseases that results from vitamin D3 deficiency (rickets, osteoporosis, and osteomalacia) and to treat nutritional deficiency of vitamin D3 due to imbalanced diet and its deficiency which is caused by some disease states (malabsorption syndrome, Crohn's disease, and liver diseases). It is also used in the Crohn's of calcium (hypocalcemia) caused by hypoparathyroidism which is decreased levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH) from parathyroid glands.

Yes, Osta D3 contains cholecalciferol which is a secosteroid and it acts as a hormone precursor. It is a prescription drug that is used in the management of diseases that results from vitamin D deficiency such as rickets. Rarely, Osta D3 causes a headache, if the drug is taken in more than the recommended doses. It is a known side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause headache is unknown. If you experience a severe headache after taking this drug, take a mild painkiller, applying balms and complete rest. Even after this if the pain does not subside then discuss with your doctor immediately.
