Rarely, Quinoten causes joint pain. Its incident is not known. However, if you experience intense joint pain after taking this drug then you are advised to take some rest even after that it persists or becomes severe then discuss with your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Quinoten contains atenolol which is presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
