Interaction between Food and Rabikem
Taking Rabikem with food is safe.
Interaction between Alcohol and Rabikem
Consuming Rabikem with alcohol can have many serious effects on your body.
Rabikem should be taken for as long as it is prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it or take an extra dose on your own. Always follow the instructions of your doctor completely.
This is because a long-term use of Rabikem can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acid which is required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Rarely Rabikem causes stomach cancer. There has been no direct relationship to establish the fact. However, stomach cancer and other cancers may develop because of recurring acid reflux for a long time for example 7 - 8 years or more. If you feel any symptoms associated with cancer such as consistent low-grade fever, weight loss due to unexplained reasons, and pain in the abdomen, do not hesitate to get it diagnosed by a physician.
No, Rabikem is not an antibiotic. It belongs to the group of medications called proton pump inhibitor which blocks the excessive acid secretion in the stomach while antibiotics are the medicine that prevents and treats the infection caused by bacteria.
Rarely, Rabikem causes hair loss. This is a reversible side effect of Rabikem, the problem goes away after discontinuation of this drug. For partial hair loss, you are advised to use hair tonic and discuss with your doctor about a better treatment option for hair loss.
