Interaction between Alcohol and Ropraz
Consuming Ropraz with alcohol can have many serious effects on your body.
Ropraz may cause allergy in rare instances. An allergic reaction might lead to swelling of the face, development of a rash, throat tightness and difficulty in breathing. If you develop any of these symptoms, talk to your doctor immediately. He may stop Ropraz for a while and examine you properly.
No, Ropraz does not cause kidney damage at recommended doses. However, in case of long-term use of Ropraz along with improper kidney function, might cause kidney damage. If you experience discoloration of urine ( symptoms of kidney damage) then immediately inform to doctor and follow his/her instructions.
This is because a long-term use of Ropraz can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acid which is required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Yes, Ropraz use is associated with the development of diarrhea. This might be related to an infection caused by Clostridium difficile. Ropraz is used to alleviate the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD). GERD is a condition in which acid back-flows from the stomach to the esophagus (the tube which connects the stomach with throat) causing heartburn and injury to the esophagus. Ropraz is used to prevent this damage. Ropraz is also used to treat conditions like Zollinger Ellison syndrome (excessive acid is produced by the stomach). It is used for the treatment of ulcers (sores in the lining of stomach and intestine) and also used in combination with other antibiotics (such as amoxicillin and clarithromycin) to manage H.pylori infection.
