Trioptal, a prescription drug, is manufactured in various forms such as Suspension, Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Epilepsy. The alternative uses of Trioptal have also been explained below.
The right dosage of Trioptal depends on the age, gender, and medical history of the patient. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.
Besides the aforementioned side effects, there are other adverse effects of Trioptal as well, which are listed below. Usually, these side effects of Trioptal go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.
It is also important to note that Trioptal has a Moderate effect for pregnant women and Moderate effect on lactating mothers. In addition, Trioptal's effects on the liver, heart and kidney are discussed below in the Trioptal related warnings section.
Trioptal is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Depression, Kidney Disease, Liver Disease are examples of such conditions. Some other conditions that can be affected by Trioptal are listed in the contraindications section below.
