Yes, Amimax is safe to use, if taken in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor. However, certain side effects have been associated with this drug such as decreased urination, itching, irritation, and hearing loss. Discontinuing Amimax on your own can increase the chances of bacterial resistance and infection relapse. It is recommended that you always consult your doctor if you have decided to discontinue this medicine.
Do not self-administer Amimax. It comes in the form of injection and given preferably 2 - 3 times in a day (Intravenously). Discontinuing the medicine in between may promote resistant bacteria which result in a relapse of the infection.
