Endida inhibit the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme lanosterol 14- demethylase and thus block ergosterol synthesis leading to membrane abnormalities in the fungus. It kills the fungus by destroying its cell membrane.
Endida is a brand name of fluconazole. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of antifungal medications. It is used to treat fungal infections such as vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection of the vagina), oral thrush etc.
