Interaction between Food and Azostat
You can take Azostat with food.
Interaction between Alcohol and Azostat
Taking alcohol with Azostat can be dangerous.
Rarely, Azostat can cause stomach upset especially when it is intravenously administered (route injectible). On the contrary, oral administration of Azostat has been reported to cause stomach upset such as indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhea, and nausea. Keep your doctor informed in case you are experiencing stomach disturbances while taking this drug.
Occasionally, Azostat causes constipation when it is taken orally, while the interavenous administration of the medication does not cause constipation or other stomach related issues.
Take Azostat as directed by your doctor. Do not discontinue the drug suddenly or take it longer than prescribed.
Discontinuation of Azostat on your own can cause unwanted side effects such as a headache, dizziness, stomach upset, and diarrhea. You are recommended to always consult a doctor before discontinuing this medicine.
Rarely, Azostat can cause irregular periods. However, if you're experiencing conditions such as leucorrhoea (whitish or yellowish vaginal discharge), menorrhagia (abnormally heavy bleeding at menstruation) and dysmenorrhea (Painful periods) after taking this medication. Inform your doctor and see a gynaecologist.
