Cipclav is a prescription medicine that is available as a Injection, Syrup, Tablet. Cipclav also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

Cipclav Dosage & How to Take

This is the usual dosage recommended in most common treatment cases. Please remember that every patient and their case is different, so the dosage can be different based on the disease, route of administration, patient's age and medical history.

  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 5 ml
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 8 hourly
  • Course Duration: 10 days
  • Special Instructions: As prescribed by the doctor
Infant (1 month to 2 years)
  • Disease: Sinusitis
  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 5 ml
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 8 hourly
  • Course Duration: 10 days
  • Special Instructions: dose should be given to patients above 3 months, strength 125 mg amoxicillin and 31.25 mg clavulanic acid in 5 ml
Neonates (0 to 1 month)
  • Disease: Sinusitis
  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 15 mg/kg
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 12 hourly
  • Course Duration: 10 days
  • Special Instructions: dose should be given to patients less than 12 weeks old, strength 125 mg amoxicillin and 31.25 mg clavulanic acid in 5 ml

How to use Cipclav?

Cipclav should be ideally taken with food(a light meal). Take this medicine in the required quantity and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Discontinuing the medicine in between may promote resistant bacteria which result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 3 - 7-day course even after getting symptomatic relief. In case you feel any discomfort such as breathing difficulties and skin reactions while taking this medicine please inform your doctor immediately.
