Rticlav Information

Rticlav is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet, Syrup, Solution. Rticlav also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

Medical history of the patient along with age and gender determines the dosage of Rticlav. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. For detailed information on this, read through the dosage section.

Apart from the aforementioned side effects, Rticlav can also lead to other problems, which have been listed below. Such side effects of Rticlav normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.

Rticlav Dosage & How to Take

This is the usual dosage recommended in most common treatment cases. Please remember that every patient and their case is different, so the dosage can be different based on the disease, route of administration, patient's age and medical history.

  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 5 ml
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 8 hourly
  • Course Duration: 10 days
  • Special Instructions: As prescribed by the doctor
Infant (1 month to 2 years)
  • Disease: Sinusitis
  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 5 ml
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 8 hourly
  • Course Duration: 10 days
  • Special Instructions: dose should be given to patients above 3 months, strength 125 mg amoxicillin and 31.25 mg clavulanic acid in 5 ml
Neonates (0 to 1 month)
  • Disease: Sinusitis
  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 15 mg/kg
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 12 hourly
  • Course Duration: 10 days
  • Special Instructions: dose should be given to patients less than 12 weeks old, strength 125 mg amoxicillin and 31.25 mg clavulanic acid in 5 ml

Rticlav is a brand name for amoxicillin. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called penicillin antibiotic. It is used in the treatment of the number of bacterial infections such as tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, gonorrhea, and infection of ear, nose, throat, skin, urinary tract. It is also used in combination with other antibiotic medications such as clarithromycin to treat stomach ulcer caused by Helicobacter pylori bacteria.
