Cetnol PP belongs to the class of compounds known as phenothiazines. It has antihistaminic, antiemetic and sedative properties. Cetnol PP is indicated to be used for allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, allergic responses of the body to blood and plasma products. In combination with other drugs, the Cetnol PP is used for treating the symptoms of common cold like sneezing, runny nose and coughing. In some cases, this drug is also used to sedate patients before labor and surgical procedures. It is also used to treat motion sickness, nausea, and vomiting.
Citalopram is an antidepressant which interacts with Cetnol PP causing increased serotonin levels in the blood. This can cause adverse cardiac effects like high blood pressure, an increase in the heart rate and this might lead to shock.
No, it is recommended that you do not take Cetnol PP with amitriptyline which is an antidepressant with anticholinergic effects. Since Cetnol PP also has anticholinergic effects, both the drugs produce additive effects such as dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, etc.
Yes, antipsychotics like Cetnol PP exert anticholinergic effects and as a result, dry mouth is one of the adverse reactions.
