But just the right products won’t do you any good if you don’t know the tricks to use them for your condition. Yes, there is a specific way to use every product as per your skin condition.

Read on to know some of these best-kept secrets that can get you youthful and clear looking skin in no time.

Wash and cleanse

This can never be emphasised enough! The first and most important step for flawless looking skin is keeping it clean of dust and pollutants.

But before you start slathering yourself with a face wash, you should know what skin type you are. Do you have oily skin? Or a dry skin? Maybe it is too sensitive for a regular face wash. Don’t just pick up the first cleansing product you find in the supermarket aisle. Look for ingredients and labels. There is a specific product for every skin type. On a general note, use hydrating and nourishing face washes, they are good for almost every skin type.

Once you get your cleanser, make sure to wash your hands properly before you touch your face. Your hands acquire a lot of dust and germs throughout the day and it can lead to acne and skin problems if not cleansed first. While lathering the soap, move your palms along the lines of your face.

Wash your face two times in a day even if your skin looks clean.

Exfoliate

Regular cleansing would remove excess dirt from your skin but you still need to get rid of dead skin and dirt stuck in your pores. And for that, you need to exfoliate properly. Just like a cleanser go for a specific product as per your skin type and wherever possible chose a natural scrub. You can also make one for yourself with ground sugar and yoghurt.

Move your hands in the same way as you’d do for cleansing but don’t get too carried away. Over exfoliation may lead to skin damage and irritation, especially if you have sensitive skin. Also, be extra careful while scrubbing around eyes, it is the most delicate and sensitive area of your face.

And finally, don’t overwash your face even if you have oily skin. It’ll produce more oil on your skin, leading to blemishes and acne.

Exfoliation deep cleanses your skin, leaving your pores open, so don’t dry your skin with a dirty hand towel or the same towel you use to dry off your body.

Moisturising

It is very important to apply moisturizer after washing and exfoliating your face. It’ll help to hydrate your skin and lock in moisture, making it look soft and supple. Don’t apply too much as your skin will take up only what it needs rest is just a waste of product. Apply a thin even layer and leave it for a few minutes to be absorbed into your skin. For best results, pick a moisturiser with an SPF so you don’t have to put on an extra layer of sunscreen.
