Bactiquin is a brand name of quinine and it comes in the form of a tablet, injection, and oral suspension. It belongs to the class of drugs known as antimalarials. It is a prescription drug that is used in the treatment of malaria which is a vector-borne infectious disease caused by parasites plasmodium species. These are Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium malariae, Plasmodium ovale, and Plasmodium vivax. It is sometimes used in the prevention and treatment of night-time leg cramps and to treat human babesiosis which is a tick-borne protozoal infectious disease caused by parasite belonging to genus Babesia.
