No, Bisacodyl should not be used for weight loss as the latter is an adverse outcome of long-term and over usage. Alongside weight loss, some of the other debilitating outcomes are electrolyte imbalances, diarrhea, abdominal pain, protein loss, muscle weakness, vomiting, bone weakening (osteomalacia), reduced blood flow to the kidneys and excessive production of aldosterone (secondary aldosteronism), and muscular spasms (tetany) and severe pathological changes.

No, Bisacodyl should be avoided in patients with acute abdominal disorders such as appendicitis and intestinal obstruction. It should also be avoided in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and serious dehydration. Additionally, suppositories should be avoided in patient's with ulcerated hemorrhoids, inflammation of the rectum and anal fissures.
