What is Betatine?

Betatine is a brand name for betahistine. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medication called antivertigo or betahistine analogue. It is available in a different dosage form such tablet, injection. It is commonly prescribed for balance disorders or prevents vertigo symptoms associated with Meniere's disease. It is also used to treat ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and hearing loss or hearing difficulty.

Can I use Betatine to treat motion sickness?

No, Betatine does not treat motion sickness. It is antivertigo medicine used to treat vertigo associated with Meniere's disease. Motion sickness is treated with ondansetron and another anti-nausea drug. It is well tolerated and has no side effects.

Does Betatine cause constipation?

Occasionally, Betatine causes constipation. Constipation means three or fewer bowl in a week, in this case, stool become hard and dry and sometimes it is painful to pass. If you experience severe constipation after consuming this medicine, eat more fruit, vegetable, and grain which are higher in fibers. Also, drink plenty of water and take a laxative if necessary.
