How does Mupiron work?

Mupiron works by inhibiting RNA synthetase enzyme in bacteria that is essential for bacterial protein synthesis due to which the bacteria cannot make new proteins. The absence of these proteins results in stunned bacterial growth due to which bacteria is not able to survive. Mupiron is effective against mainly gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.
