No, Afderm MX alone should not be used for ringworm because it is a fungal infection of the skin caused by fungi such as Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum and Afderm MX is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Afderm MX should not be used for the treatment of ringworm. For the treatment of ringworm, you can use a combination of Afderm MX and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
Afderm MX is used for the short-term treatment up to 2 weeks and if required then maximum up to 4 weeks. You are advised to use it as directed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine longer than prescribed by your doctor to avoid the unpleasant side effect.
